Social media marketing

Social media marketing in Richmond, Virginia.

We run social channels for small businesses across Richmond and central Virginia. Content shot at your place of business, captions written in your voice, and paid budget pointed at people who can actually drive to you.

The short version

The local part matters more than people think

Most social media advice is written for businesses that ship nationwide. If you run a shop in Carytown, a contracting company out of Chesterfield, or a studio in Scott’s Addition, most of that advice is quietly wrong for you. A national brand wants reach. You want the four hundred people who live within fifteen minutes of your front door and have not heard of you yet.

That changes what we do. We spend less time chasing follower counts and more time on the things that turn a scroll into a visit: geography-tight paid targeting, posts that name real neighborhoods and landmarks, and a Google Business Profile that stays current so the people searching “near me” at 6pm on a Thursday actually find you.

We are based here. When we need photos of your shop, we drive over. That is not a small thing — it is the difference between a feed that looks like your business and a feed that looks like a stock photo library.

What we run

Where the work actually goes.

Three areas cover most of what a local business needs. We scale the mix to your budget.

Instagram & Facebook

Still where most central Virginia buying decisions get influenced, especially for retail, food, trades, and personal care. We run both as one calendar so you are not paying twice for the same work.

  • Reels and short video
  • Story sequences
  • Local paid targeting

Google Business Profile

The single most underrated channel for a local business, and the one most often left half-finished. Posts, photos, Q&A, and review responses, kept current every week rather than set up once and abandoned.

  • Weekly posts
  • Photo uploads
  • Review responses

TikTok, LinkedIn & the rest

Added only when your customers are genuinely there. A B2B firm in Innsbrook belongs on LinkedIn. A lunch spot on Broad Street does not. We would rather run two channels properly than five badly.

  • Platform audit first
  • Added when it earns it
  • Dropped when it does not

What a month looks like

You always know what is coming.

No mystery retainer. Here is the actual rhythm of a month once we are up and running.

  1. Week one

We send next month’s calendar for approval — every post, caption, and image, before anything goes live. You edit or approve in one pass.

  2. Ongoing

Posts go out on schedule. Comments and DMs get answered the same business day, in your voice, not a bot’s.

  3. Mid-month

We check what is actually performing and shift paid budget toward it. You get a note if something changes materially.

  4. Month end

A plain-English report: what ran, what worked, what it cost, and what we are changing next month. One page, no jargon.

Who this fits

The businesses we do our best work for.

We are honest about fit, because a bad match wastes your money and our time. This works well if you are an established local business with something real to show — a storefront, a workshop, a finished job site, a treatment room, a plate of food. It works less well if you are pre-revenue and hoping social media will invent demand that does not exist yet.

  • Restaurants, bars, and coffee shops around Richmond and the counties
  • Retail and boutiques in Carytown, Church Hill, and Shockoe Bottom
  • Trades and home services across Chesterfield, Henrico, and the Tri-Cities
  • Salons, barbers, esthetics, and wellness practices
  • Studios, gyms, and instructors with a physical location
  • Professional services that sell locally and want to look established

Common questions

What people ask before signing up.

Do you actually come out and shoot content?

Yes, and it is included rather than billed as an extra. We are based in Richmond and we work across central Virginia, so getting to your business is a short drive. For clients outside the region we work from footage and photos you send, and we will tell you honestly if what you have is not enough.

How much does social media management cost?

Content packages start at $1,200 a month and full social media management starts at $1,800 a month. Those are starting points for a typical small business, not a range we hide behind — you get a real number after a free 30-minute call.

Is ad spend included in that?

No, and be suspicious of anyone who says it is. Ad spend goes directly to the platform on your own card, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and you keep the ad account if we ever part ways. We manage it; you own it.

How long before this does anything?

Google Business Profile and listing work often move within a few weeks because you are fixing something broken. Organic social is slower — expect three months before the pattern is clear and six before it compounds. Paid campaigns produce data almost immediately, though the first month is largely learning which audience responds.

Do we have to sign a long contract?

Monthly work runs month to month after an initial three-month period. We ask for three months because anything shorter cannot fairly be judged, and we would rather set that expectation up front than lock you into a year.
